The Chinese Government adds Artificial Intelligence to the high school curriculum and unveils mandated high school AI textbook

Over the past two months, news of China’s intent to dominate the artificial intelligence (AI) world dominated the headlines. Last Summer, China unveiled a plan to become the world leader in artificial intelligence, challenging the United States for AI dominance. China is not alone: French President Emmanuel Macron, in a Q&A interview with Wired Magazine, discussed his country’s plans to spend nearly $2 billion on AI research and development.

As part of China’s plan to dominate – and eventually rule – AI, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a 28-page document detailing a “Three-year Action Plan for the Development of a New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Industry (2018-2020).”
