What do those past investigations tell us about where the Russia investigation might go next?

Despite the drama of Mueller’s first year, we won’t know what his slew of indictments really means until it’s clear what additional evidence he’s been able to collect. Does Mueller have evidence that Trump is at the center of some kind of web of illegal activity? If he does, then we may be looking at something like Watergate. If not — then maybe this is as far as the Russia investigation gets.
