State Department drops NPR from Pompeo trip after Ukraine dust-up

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo appears to be escalating his criticism of NPR — this time not just with words but with actions.

On Monday NPR reporter Michele Kelemen was notified that she was being removed from the press pool covering Pompeo’s upcoming trip to the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The sudden change came just a few days after the top US diplomat responded angrily to an interviewer from the public radio outlet.
