Who won last night’s debate? Maybe narcissism

By Ken Feltman –

Joe Biden did not win the debate. Donald Trump lost it.

Despite mistakes, missed opportunities and confusing answers to some questions, Joe Biden had a better night because President Trump had a bad night.

Overnight surveys of undecided voters commissioned by Radnor Reports indicate that – with a few exceptions – voters concluded that Trump interrupted at will, was rude and failed to answer direct questions. In short, he was not presidential. Some voters expressed concern that he seemed unprepared and went on the attack because that is what he does best.

Biden was not impressive but a clear majority of voters surveyed think he will do a better job representing the United States in international affairs. A surprising number of voters said that Biden will not be an embarrassment. Voters are willing to give Biden a chance.

A Republican Party official from Iowa summed it up: I am tired of having to explain Trump and make excuses for his rudeness and crudeness. He is not likeable and people think that’s not going to change. So they seem ready to vote for change.

A GOP official from Minnesota said: Trump has done a lot of good but he is hard to sell. He has a personality that rubs the wrong way. He’s sort of abrasive.

From Texas: “He’s not going to change his style. People aren’t going to change their expectations for how a President should handle himself.”

Did President Trump’s narcissism finally undo his presidency?
